Can one imagine a perfect summer’s day, by an idyllic boating lake with a warm breeze providing the backdrop to a delicious luncheon? That is the Boathouse restaurant in Central Park, New York. On this day, it was a piece of heaven. The delicious halibut, preceded by a large lettuce wedge smothered in blue cheese sauce and washed down with an excellent St. Veran rendered your dear Doctor in rapture. This is to be recommended but do let the patron know you are comng ahead of time as I fear this is a popular eatery, especially when the sun shines. A big hurrah!! for our colonial cousins. Miss it and be disappointed!
